Yoga Holiday in India

My friend Christine came to  visit me one weekend and it was great talking about her Yoga trip to India. I love India and have seen both the Norther highlights of India as well as some beautiful spots in the South. Unlike Christine, my trip was not a yoga trip but a bike trip. It’s a little crazy riding a bike in India and my friend Tushar told me not to do it! My partner and I had a wonderful trip and there is simply no better way to feel and smell the countryside, and meet many friendly people who think your bike helmet is to protect you against the rain. The two most popular questions were “how many kids do you have?” and “why do you ride a bike if you can afford to ride in a car?”

Christine covered a lot of ground in just three weeks and has some wonderful photos posted. Take a look: India 2009christine Anusara Yoga and Tika Tantra holiday in India with Christina Sell and Genevieve Gilbreath.

I have always loved tattoos and to date I now have 12.

My name is Kat Mundy. My journey through yoga thus far has been amazing. It has dramatically changed my life for the better. Once I began my journey I new that I needed to know more. I then decided to enrol in teacher training which was an amazing experience. My wonderful and amazingly knowledgeable and experienced teacher Shasta Townsend from Balanced Life Yoga, taught me the tools necessary to become a teacher myself. I then decided to open my own business Sweet Emotion Yoga and Wellness so that I can as well share the teachings that I have learned with others. I have always loved tattoos and to date I now have 12. My tattoo artist James Strongarm from “King Tatt” in Sutton Ontario did an outstanding  job on  my latest  tattoo the Seven Chakras. It was an amazing experience getting them done which took a very long time, there is a lot of detail in each individual Chakra. I wanted very much to begin a sleeve on my arm, but needed to make sure what I was putting on my body would always be important to me. Getting a tattoo is a serious thing, its on your body for life. I wanted to be able to always look at it and smile. And I do. I decided to go with the Seven Chakras because they are part of me. They bring me strength. Meditating on the Chakras as well as giving myself, Reiki self treatments, has helped reduce some of the blockages that I have been carrying. The beautiful colors and individuality of each chakra make for a beautiful tattoo. The best part about it is that  people always come up to me and ask me what they are and I get to share the meaning of them with them. That is my passion, sharing the teachings of yoga, so that others can also gain the many benefits of the practice.

Many Blessings

We had a great time at the ChakraVibe booth, meeting some of our tattoo contestants in person.
The stories have been truly wonderful. I also enjoyed getting your feed back on our jewelry line and am inspired
by some of the suggestion and request.
We look forward to our next opportunity to Vibe (or meet) with you again at the Vancouver  Yoga  Pilate Conference and Show coming up in October.
Whether  you’re a new-be or have been practicing for years, the conference is a great venue to connect with people who share an interest in Yoga.
See you in Vancouver!

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

A friend sent me this message. I thought it was worthwhile sharing. george-carlin

“The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeway, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more  problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We’ve  learned how to make a living, but not a life. We’ve added years to life not life to years. We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We’ve done larger things, but not better things.

We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We’ve conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We’ve learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less…”
