ChakraVibe suggests volunteering while on vacation.

Voluntouring: volunteering while on vacation, is an increasing travel trend. According to a 2006 Travelocity annual forecast poll, 11 percent of respondents said they planned to volunteer while on vacation farmingin 2007 (up from 6 percent in 2006), doing anything from building houses to caring for children in an orphanage.

Introducing World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms, or WWOOF, also sometimes called Willing Workers on Organic Farms. Founded in the UK in 1971, WWOO helps people around the world, from North America to Australia, share more sustainable ways of living. Volunteers learn more about organic lifestyles at host farms, while host farms get much needed help.

We at ChakraVibe love our Green Apples.

Apple computers are the computers of choice here at our ChakraVibe offices. So we are thrilled to hear that Macintosh computers has decided to listen to their customers to create a more green_my_appleenvironment friendly product. After months of grassroots consumer lobbying, aided by shrewd toxic campaigns by Greenpeace, the MacBook family has been redesigned to be more in tune with the new environmental ethic movement.

These new Mac shave fewer toxic components. The body is formed from a single, solid piece of aluminum, which makes it easier to recycle. Significantly more energy efficient, including automatic display dimming, that can last eight hours on a single charge and have five year lifespan. Amazing! Mac also brags that its new notebooks are shipped with less packaging. It’s about time!
