ChakraVibe recommends yoga and meditation to understand chakra energies.

For every one of us, life is an exploration. Yoga and meditation are central to the ancient teachings about chakras, because they open up other dimensions beyond the physical beingdimension. To begin to understand your chakra energies, you need to take control of your life and, most important, give yourself time to just be. Be guided by the ancient saying: “ I am my own limitation–without my own limitation, I am.”

An excerpt from Patricia Mercier’s book: Chakras: Balance Your Body’s Energy for Health and Harmony

ChakraVibe suggests exploring food for chakra healing

Foods, especially foods that share colors with the chakras, carry vibrations that can activate or balance your chakras.  book_cover_cffoh_b

Root Chakra Healing Foods: Protein (especially animal protein), root vegetables, edible and medicinal mushrooms, red-colored foods (apples, pomegranates, etc)

Sacral Chakra Healing Foods: Fats and oils, fish (especially wild-caught salmon), tropical fruits, seeds, nuts, orange-colored foods (oranges, tangerines, carrots, etc.)

Solar Plexus Chakra Healing Foods: Carbohydrates (complex), fiber, whole grains, legumes, yellow-colored foods (yellow sweet peppers, yellow lentils, corn, etc.)

Heart Chakra Healing Foods: Vegetables (especially cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, kale, cabbage, and leafy greens), sprouts, raw foods, foods rich in chlorophyll, plant compounds like phytoestrogens and phytosterols, any green-colored foods.

Throat Chakra Healing Foods: Sea-plants, fruits, juices, soups, sauces, (which bring together different elements like water and earth), and foods from different ethnic groups (The throat chakra encourages variety of foods.)

Third Eye Chakra Healing Foods: Caffeine, tea, chocolate, spices, wine, purple-red foods (purple potatoes, red onions, blackberries, blueberries, purple grapes, etc.)

Crown Chakra Healing Foods: Since the crown chakra is more “spirit” than “matter,” it is not nourished with physical foods in the same way that they feed other chakras, but the crown chakra thrives on the sustenance that comes from sunlight, air, and love.

I have always loved tattoos and to date I now have 12.

Namaste,kat_tattoo

My name is Kat Mundy. My journey through yoga thus far has been amazing. It has dramatically changed my life for the better. Once I began my journey I new that I needed to know more. I then decided to enrol in teacher training which was an amazing experience. My wonderful and amazingly knowledgeable and experienced teacher Shasta Townsend from Balanced Life Yoga, taught me the tools necessary to become a teacher myself. I then decided to open my own business Sweet Emotion Yoga and Wellness so that I can as well share the teachings that I have learned with others. I have always loved tattoos and to date I now have 12. My tattoo artist James Strongarm from “King Tatt” in Sutton Ontario did an outstanding  job on  my latest  tattoo the Seven Chakras. It was an amazing experience getting them done which took a very long time, there is a lot of detail in each individual Chakra. I wanted very much to begin a sleeve on my arm, but needed to make sure what I was putting on my body would always be important to me. Getting a tattoo is a serious thing, its on your body for life. I wanted to be able to always look at it and smile. And I do. I decided to go with the Seven Chakras because they are part of me. They bring me strength. Meditating on the Chakras as well as giving myself, Reiki self treatments, has helped reduce some of the blockages that I have been carrying. The beautiful colors and individuality of each chakra make for a beautiful tattoo. The best part about it is that  people always come up to me and ask me what they are and I get to share the meaning of them with them. That is my passion, sharing the teachings of yoga, so that others can also gain the many benefits of the practice.

Many Blessings
